March 16th: General Meeting  10:00 a.m., North Shore Library, Lower Level.  
Program 11:00 a.m. : “Daylilies: Painting Your Garden With Color” with SGC member Barbara Goldstein who is also a member of the L.I. Daylily Society and Hemerocallis Society (North Shore Public Library at 11am)
 
April:
April 20th:  General Meeting  10:00 a.m., North Shore Library, Lower Level. 
Program 11:00 a.m. : “Patio Gardenswith Master Gardener Susan King.  Susan will give step-by-step instructions to create patio gardens and offer suggestions for plant material, garden accessories, focal points, and physical structures.
  
May:
May 4th: Members’ trip to Winds Way Farm, Jamesport, NY.  We are invited to Nancy Gilbert and Richard Wines’ farm on the Peconic Bay.  Nancy will show us how they turned their property into a wildlife habitat and suggest ways to attract wildlife to our gardens.   http://www.windswayfarm.com/
May 7th: Executive Board Meeting
May 11th: Garden Conservancy Open Day. Bill and Ronnie Schiavo’s Woodland Garden will be on display, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.  Address: 9 Hunters Trail, Wading River.  Club members can obtain discounted tickets – please contact Carol Ryan. 
May 19th: Annual Duck Pond Day, Wading River. Shoreham Garden Club will have a table set-up in the parking opposite the pond, with some fun giveaways for children and maybe a raffle (free) for adults.
We hope to promote interest in gardening and landscaping to people with children and encourage them to consider joining our club.  Stop by and see us on May 19th.
 
June:
June 1stAnnual Plant and Tag Sale at the home of Sheila Sussman, 36 Briarcliff Rd, Shoreham.  Proceeds go the Shoreham Garden Club Scholarship offered each year to a Shoreham-Wading River High School graduating senior for outstanding work in environmentalism and the physical sciences.
June 11th: Members’ trip to High Line Park, New York City http://www.thehighline.org/ (This trip was canceled due to inclement weather and will be rescheduled in September. Contact Carol Ryan for more information.)
June 21st: Annual Mid-Summer Night’s Garden Party hosted by Peter Kahn.
 
July:
July 9th: Members’ Garden Tour & Lunch (rain date July 16th)   We have been invited to tour two of our members gardens on July 9th:  Jean Ozol’s garden in Wading River and Barbara Goldstein’s garden in Ridge.  Jean’s garden will be open at 10:30. We will move on to Barbara’s garden afterwards. Barbara has invited us to bring lunch to her garden to enjoy.  Barbara made a presentation in the spring, and raffled off some of her daylilies;  the winners will be able to obtain them that day.  Please let Carol Ryan know if you would like to join the tours so the hosts have an idea of how many people to expect.
 
August:
Possible additional Garden Tour will be planned in the August/September timeframe. TBA.

September:
September 10th: Executive Board Meeting
September 11th, 12th, 13th:  Community Project.  Wading River Duck Pond parking lot beautification.  Co-chairs: Judy Faraone and Barbara Goldstein. 

September 17th: Members’ trip to High Line Park, New York City http://www.thehighline.org/ (Contact Carol Ryan for more information.)
September 21st
: General Meeting  10:00 a.m. North Shore Library, Lower Level.
Program 11:00 a.m.: “Bulbs for all Seasons”  with Anne Carpenter.  Anne is a member of the Cornell Extension Agricultural Program Advisory Committee, a National Garden Club consultant, and Three Village Garden Club Horticulture and Arboretum administrator.  

September 29thNew Members’ Reception. Kate Ventura’s home, 5:00 p.m.  Light refreshments will be served.

October:

October 5th: Visit to the garden of Romy Danzi in Manorville,  12:00 p.m. This garden is filled with ideas to think about during the winter, to transform into our gardens in the spring. (Contact Carol Ryan for carpooling or directions.)
October 19th: Members Workshop – Leaf printing and fall tasting (plant swap optional) with Judy Faraone.  To be held at Pat Thompson’s home, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.  RSVP by October 16 to Judy Faraone.
October 22nd
: Tuesday, 7:00 p.m. Executive Board Meeting. Kate Ventura’s home.

 November:

 November 9th: Saturday, 10:00 a.m. General Meeting, North Shore Library, Lower Level.
Program
11:00 a.m. :  Club member Bill Schiavo will speak on “Deer Resistant and Drought Resistant Gardening.”

 December:
December 8th:  Sunday, 2:00 p.m. Members’ Holiday Party, hosted by Tim and Joanne Johnson.
